Opal Evans Heath passed away quietly September 16, 2014 at the age of 98. She was born to Arthur and Lavonia Evans on April 30, 1916 in Hugo, Oklahoma. She grew up in Red Oak, Texas, in Lamar County. Opal moved to Dallas, Texas, in 1934 where she was employed by Jordan and Company Insurance Agency until she retired in 1976. She met Oscar F. Heath Jr. and they married in 1946. They made Dallas, their home. They were members of Lake Highlands Baptist Church of Dallas. Opal is survived by her niece, Juanita Mitchell Vickers of Rowlett, Texas and nephew Donald T. Mitchell of Chicota, Texas. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation is Thursday, September 18, 2014 6-8 pm at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 10:00 am, at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
