

Opal Jean Session Taylor was born November 22, 1949 to the late Cleveland and V.Opal Session. She attended Dallas Independent School District and graduated from James Madison High School Class of 1967, where she was voted "Most Popular Girl" of her class. She earned her Associates Degree from Dallas County Community College District. She went on to pursue a career in real estate as a licensed real estate agent for several years. Opal had a passion for cooking and serving. She supported her parents in establishing Session's Cafeteria as one of the best soul food restaurants in the city. In pursuing her passion, she went on to work and serve in many of Dallas' finest country clubs and hotels for numerous years. In 1969 she married the love of her life Walter B. Taylor III. Opal was blessed to have given birth to three precious souls: Vanessa, Clevaros, and Jamal. Opal accepted Christ at a young age at the Galilee Church of Christ where she and her family attended. As an adult, she moved her membership to True Lee Missionary Baptist Church under the late R.L. Parish as her pastor. She remained a member of True Lee until her death. Opal loved her family and her community. She was affectionately known as "Granny T" by her grandchildren. She was a very lively, humorous person to be around and she did not meet a stranger. Mom was met with open arms by her parents Cleveland and V.Opal Session and her brother Cleveland Ross Session. Opal has left a lifetime of joy and happiness, peace and tranquility with a loving legacy to remember her by are her 3 children Vanessa K.Baylock (Brandon), Clevaros M. Taylor (Shaunda), and Jamal L. Taylor, all of Dallas,Texas: seven grandchildren; two nieces, and a host of other family and friends; Special family friends Mrs. Aimee Sands and Mrs. Sue Mitchell.
