Orvan Mack Porterfield was born in Clinton, Oklahoma, the fourth child of Oscar and Tillie Porterfield. He grew up in that area of Oklahoma until the family moved to Palisade, Colorado in 1941. He graduated from Palisade High School in 1946.
He married the love of his life, Wyllene, on October 5, 1951. Two children were born into their home, son, Don and daughter, Carolyn. They enjoyed a long and blessed union of 66 years and displayed a beautiful picture of love and commitment that others envied. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 2013.
Mack served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was proud of his service to his country. He then had a career in electronics that included operating his own business for a number of years in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was a kind and gentle man that was respected by all who knew him.
He is survived by son, Don and wife Olga of Latham, New York; daughter, Carolyn of Irving, Texas; grandson, Jason and wife Deanne of Washington, Pennsylvania; and grandson, David of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His two great granddaughters, Sydney and Carly were the delight of his heart.
