On July 19, 2018, 1:15pm, Oscar "Mickey" Quillin received a tap on the shoulder and was gently ushered to his Heavenly home. He now so joyfully sings in the choir of angels and most probably has the solo to “He Touched Me”, his signature song. He was welcomed into Heaven by his loving parents, two brothers and a host of family and friends.
Oscar “Mickey” Quillin, was born in Roswell, New Mexico on November 10, 1035. He was born to Rev. Leon and Lucile Quillin. On July 2, 1954, he married the love of his life, Patsy June Brown, they celebrated 64 years of marriage this year. On April 10, 1956, a pink bundle of cuddles joined their life, daughter Vicki Sue. February 10, 1960 another pink bundle of joy joined the family, Tammie Ann. Mickey loved his “girls” and spared no expense or love where they were concerned. He served his family in every way.
Mickey, as he was affectionately renamed by his young girlfriend, Pat, was the finest of the fine and showed care and compassion for everyone he met. He enjoyed gospel music, singing, traveling with his family, gardening, watching westerns, antique cars, snow skiing and just spending time with family was his very FAVORITE activity. Actually, he wanted family around him at all times.
Mickey was a great provider for his family and worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for decades as the Regional Sales Manager until retirement in 1972. He also served in volunteer capacities in his home church, Hillview Terrace Assembly of God Church and was a Deacon for many years.
Mickey is survived by his wife, Pat; daughters, Vicki Green and Tammie Quillin; son-in-law, James Green; Grandson, Chad Green; Granddaughter, Misti Green; Great-Grandsons, Jameson Green and Chasen Williams and Great-Granddaughters, Cipporah Williams and Tori Cunningham. He is also survived by one sister, Sondra Brannon and a host of close family and friends.
