
Patricia (Pat) Ann Crader of Garland, TX passed peacefully from this life at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 30, 2012. She was born in Abilene, TX on April 19, 1927 to Annie Trimble Bynum Weakley and Forrest Banks Weakley. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Jane Bynum Weakley Harding. After her father's death, Pat and her mother moved to Dallas where she graduated from Sunset High School. In 1944, she married Allyn Charles Douglas Jr. from Corsicana, TX who was in the Army and also preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, John Louis Crader from Welch, Louisiana, as well as her daughters Carol Douglas Ingram, Jennifer Douglas and Debra Ann (Debbie) Douglas Hosea. Her grandchildren are Tara Lea Davey, Michael L. Lea, Audra Joy Ingram, Kalena Lynn Ingram Helmer, William (Bill) Douglas Hosea, Rachel Marie Hosea Rodriguez and Lauren Ashley Hosea. Great-granchildren are Grace Elizabeth Davey and Jackson Christopher Davey; Joshua Michael Lea, Isabella Taryn Lea and Jacob Preston Lea; Sage Morgan Wells and Cassidy Logan Wells; and Wesley Archer Helmer. Her nieces are Ann Harding Eckert, Margaret Harding Lund, and Betty Hardin Schone. Pat was the matriarch of the family and taught her children with her examples of love, kindness, giving, patience, and forgiving. She was always full of joy, grace, and hope which impressed upon everyone the importance of family, respect for others and unconditional love. She was intelligent, yet humble, and could make everyone feel calm and at ease. She worked at Dallas Power and Light for 37 years, becoming one of the first women in management for DP&L as a Credit Manager. She joined the Dallas Wholesale Credit Women's Association and stayed active after her retirement. Mom and John loved to dance at the VFW # 6797 `Boot Scooting' and were active supporters of veteran causes. They also began Square dancing with the Terrell Grand Squares 25 years ago, serving as president for a few years and chaired the annual Strawberry Festival Dance each spring. A graveside service was held Friday, January 4, 2013 at Grove Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery on Samuell Blvd.
