Patricia “Pat” Keiffer McAuliffe, 84, devoted and loving wife of 62 years to her childhood sweetheart, Edwin McAuliffe, peacefully departed from us on December 5, 2016. She was born in New Orleans, in Metairie, in the same neighborhood where Ed was raised, to David and Vera Keiffer on November 12, 1932. Adored by all, Pat graduated high school from Ursuline Academy and Dominican College in New Orleans. She was truly the epitome of class and grace. “Mimi” as her grand and great grandchildren affectionately called her was a beautiful woman of her Catholic faith, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Pat’s love radiated for her four children who she selflessly raised with Ed in Houston, Texas, creating a lifetime of memories while being involved in their schools, activities, church and community. Pat and Ed truly served as role models in their marriage to anyone that they met, including their family and friends, their love for each other evident throughout their daily lives. A woman of many talents, Pat possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and started and ran a very successful residential real estate company, House Hunters Inc., in the Memorial area of Houston for more than 20 years, after her children were nearly grown. In 1990, Pat and Ed packed up and moved to Dallas to “retire” close to some family and ended up developing a well respected specialty marketing company with their daughter, Kim, The McAuliffe Group, that they ran for 10 years. Recently Pat and Ed moved to The Tradition on Lovers Lane that was like home, where they kindled many new deep friendships in a very short period of time with all of their neighbors who became a second family to them. Pat was an avid cook, always cooking homemade meals for family and friends, many of which were her famous New Orleans dishes, including her jambalaya and red beans. She and Ed both enjoyed traveling and have traveled the world throughout their marriage, many of which included taking their extended family in tow. Pat is survived by her loving husband, Edwin McAuliffe and their four children, Kim McAuliffe Price and her husband Hal Price (Dallas), Daniel McAuliffe and his wife Mary (Dallas), Michael McAuliffe (Houston), and Mark and his wife Liz (Bryan, TX), as well as nine grandchildren, their spouses, and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline Vairin and her husband Sonny (New Orleans), Michael Keiffer (New Orleans) and David Keiffer Jr. (New Orleans). Pat was preceded in death by her parents, David and Vera Keiffer, and her baby sister Judy. There will be a visitation at 6:00 p.m. followed by a rosary held at 7:00pm, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in the chapel at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas 75225. A Mass of Christian Burial for Pat will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church located at 8017 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75225.
