Born on September 25, 1935 in Houston, Texas, Patricia was the youngest child to Carl and Brooksie Sheehan together with her three older brothers: John Michael, Bill and Holley. The Sheehan home was a lively place!
Patricia attended Reagan High School and was a Reagan Red Coat. She followed her brothers to Rice University majoring in English and was a member of The Owls for women. It was at Rice University that she met the love of her life, Donald (Don) McGee.
After Don graduated from college he went on active duty with the Navy stationed in Pensacola, FL and Corpus Christi, TX. Don and Pat were married in All Saint Catholic Church in Houston, TX on September 15, 1956. The wedding was officiated by Pat’s brother Fr. John Sheehan. Don was transferred to Norfolk, Virginia where a year later their first child, Donald Michael was born. Following their time in Virginia, Don accepted a job with Schlumberger and they returned to Texas moving from Liberty to Houston, Wharton and Carrizo Springs, Texas. In 1960 Don changed careers and joined Federal Pacific Electric Company and they settled in Houston where their daughter Carolyn Leigh was born.
Following a job promotion in January 1966, Pat and Don moved to Irving, Texas. They designed and built their home in Las Colinas where they shared their next 56 years together.
Pat taught school at St. Monica Catholic School in Dallas and preschool music at The Greenhill School for over 26 years. Her favorite times were the production of the Nutcracker with all the preschool students.
Pat was active in the Irving Garden Club, book clubs, Didache Scripture Studies and The Serra Club at UD.
The Catholic faith was very important to Pat as her aunt, Sr. Mary Agatha was an Incarnate Word nun and her brother, Fr. John Michael Sheehan was a Basilian Priest. Don and Pat traveled on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and also to Medugorje.
Pat and Don enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, particularly their trip to Ireland including `a visit to county Cork and meeting so many Sheehan’s and to Switzerland for a month with Mike and Barbara.
Pat loved family and was most happy when surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pat had an adventurous spirit and was willing to try new things. She learned to play golf to be able to join Don on the golf course. She became a certified scuba diver so she could scuba dive with the family. She learned to snow ski so the family could ski together and continued to try new things throughout her life.
Pat enjoyed music, especially playing the piano and enjoyed reading books, spending time with family and sharing every day with her dear Donald.
Pat’s sense of humor, laughter, and love of family and friends and her music will be missed.
