
Patricia Joanne Fitzgerald Montague, passed away on August 3, 2012 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on June 11, 1928 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Robert Louis and Mary Regina Cameron Fitzgerald. She grew up in Minnesota, and graduated from Stanbrook Hall in Duluth. She attended Rosary College in Chicago, and graduated from the University of Minnesota. She was married for 60 years to Robert Paul Montague until his death in 2010. They resided and had many dear friends in Marblehead, MA, Cincinnati, OH, Port Aransas, TX, Green Valley, AZ and Dallas. Pat and Bob raised their six children in Cincinnati.
She was also predeceased by her brother Robert L. Fitzgerald, Jr. and sister Mary Regina Turnquist, and her youngest daughter, Mary Catherine. Her surviving children include William Dean Montague of Cleveland, and his wife Vickie, Joanne Kelly Hurtekant of Dallas and her husband Tom, Robert Cameron Montague of Raleigh, NC and his wife Claire, Nancy Duncan Montague of Arlington, VA, John Malcolm Montague of Tampa and his wife Marianna. Her grandchildren include Shannon Secrest Montague, Kate Hurtekant Straight and her husband Stephen, Robert Andries Hurtekant, Joseph Cameron Hurtekant, John Robert Montague and Nicole Claire Morgan.
She will be remembered for her faith, her love of family, her strength of character and her wit. Her children learned quickly that whining and complaining were not tolerated. Mom’s answer: “Carry your cross, don’t drag it.” Words to live by.
Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas, Sat. August 11 at 10 am. A favorite charity of Patricia’s was The Benedictine Sisters at St. Scholastica Monastery, 1001 Kenwood Avenue, Duluth MN, 55811.
