September 29, 1929 – December 12, 2020
Obituary of Patricia Ann (Williams) Murphy
IN THE CARE OF

Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home & Hillcrest Mausoleum & Memorial Park

Patricia Ann Murphy (Williams) passed away and entered her heavenly home on December 12, 2020, in Dallas, Texas, at age 91. She was a cherished wife, loving mother and an extraordinary Gramsie. Patricia was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 29, 1929, to Matthew John Williams and Cecilia Ann Williams (Hennessy) and moved to Dallas with her family as a young child. She graduated from Ursuline Academy and attended the University of Texas at Austin. Patricia was married to her beloved husband, Edward (Ed) James Murphy, for over 40 years and they shared a beautiful love and a wonderful life together; they were truly devoted to each other. She was a devout Catholic with an unwavering faith and a strong moral compass. She and Ed were longtime members of Christ the King parish. Patricia was a loving stay-at-home mother, volunteer and worked for Dallas County as a Right of Way Agent. Patricia was an elegant, vibrant, intelligent and gracious woman with a terrific sense of humor and an indomitable spirit. She loved fiercely and her family was her greatest passion. She cherished the time spent with family and never missed a sporting event of her grandsons; watching them grow into fine young men gave her immeasurable pride and joy. She is survived by her husband Ed Murphy; daughter Suzy Baldwin Collins and husband David; grandsons Andrew Collins and Cameron Collins; and brother Richard (Dick) J. Williams. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father. Thank you to the staff of Caruth Haven Court Assisted Living with a special thank you to her personal caregiver, Maria Irene Garcia, who cared for her in her final year and is incredibly loving and kind. Thank you also to Faith Presbyterian Hospice, whose staff was magnificent in her last weeks and provided the ability for her family to be with her during her final journey. A private family memorial mass and burial was held December 17, 2020. If you would like to remember Patricia, please consider a gift in her name to any food bank, ministry or charity in your area, that helps those in need.
