I worked for Paul Smith for many years. He was the first attorney I worked for and is the reason I love the legal field so much! He took a chance on me as I had never worked in a law firm before and taught me how to be a legal secretary. I was on my own and away from my family and Paul and Pat became family to me! They were both always there for me when I needed them and we spent a lot of wonderful time together! I'm so thankful to have had them both in my life. I have no doubt that they made me a better person! They were our kids' Godparents and will never be forgotten! We lost Pat almost 4 years ago and now we say goodbye to Paul! I can only imagine how happy they are to be reunited! Give Pat a hug for me! RIP Paul L Smith - I love you!

Paul was a most talented attorney and a great colleague and friend. I was fortunate to work with him. My thoughts are with his family as they remember and honor him today.

I was lucky enough to work with Paul in State Court in New Jersey when I was court reporter to the Hon. Carol E. Higbee when she managed the Accutane litigation. Paul was always a joy to work with...a kind gentleman and a nice, slow talker :-)

My condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Paul was a classmate of mine. I was
a good friend of his. He was always kind and I always looked forward to seeing him at school. He always had a smile on his face and many people at school liked Paul. He was a true friend. I know he will be missed by many and especially his family. He was a treasure as a person. Patty Taylor

Paul was awesome!

I caddied for him on many occasions at Dallas National and I could always count on hearing him say “Tommy, you watch this!”

Rest In Peace Paul, you’ll be missed!

Paul and I have been friends since we were very young. Our parents were best friends and we went on vacations together. Paul and Pat were some of the best people I have ever known. Both of them very loving caring people gone to soon. I was in their wedding and she was in mine. They are both very special to me and always will be. Even if we didn’t talk all the time I miss them both very much. Stephen, Talmage, Susan, and Carolyn, I am so sorry for your loss. Love you all! ❤️❤️

Paul and I have been friends since the 2nd grade at Hillcrest Elementary in Plainview. I always thought a lot of him. We kinda grew up together all the way through high school. I was also a friend with Pat. They were both way to young to leave us! They were at my home for our 50th high school reunion. So glad they came. To Talmage and Susan I’m so sorry for your loss. Prayers and thoughts. Love CarmynTerrell Walker. carmyn@suddenlink.net

I met Paul at Dallas National. When we play we always had a bet, and Paul always loved playing with the guys at our Texas Hold-em poker games. Paul, we will miss you.
