

Pearl Blair of Dallas passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at a local Dallas hospital one week shy of her 98th birthday. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, the matriarch of her family and a wonderful friend to all who knew her.
She was born in New York City on May 18, 1917 to Louis and Fannie Goldman. She was a graduate of New York University at a time when few woman attended college, was a dedicated social worker, an avid reader even into her 90’s, a woman of great kindness and affection and a wonderful and caring friend. In her later years, she was a dedicated member of the Jewish Community Center in Dallas and made many dear friends there. She regularly attended exercise classes at the Community Center which was one of the great joys of her life. She had a love of politics and current events and, above all, loved other people. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Survivors include her son, Robert Goodfriend, her two nieces, Hildy Connal and Joan Hangarter, her nephew, Stephen Barry, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas in order to honor her memory. Online condolences can be made at www.Sparkman-Hillcrest .com.
