

Peter Michael Podesta Jr., 46, of Dallas, Texas, a man whose greatest legacy was his deep and unwavering love for his family, passed away on January 30, 2025. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Peter built a life defined by his boundless devotion to his wife Hayley and their beloved children, Hayden and Mila whom he is survived by. He is additionally survived by his loving mother Celeste Podesta, sister Ericka Podesta McCoy, niece Madeline McCoy, and nephew Turner McCoy, mother in law Carol Jean Nicolaisen, brother in law Colin Bailey, sister in law Sonya Bailey, nieces and nephews Tallia and William Sheats and Boyd Bailey, who will forever remember him as a man who showed them what it meant to love wholly, work hard and live life without reserve.
Though he achieved remarkable professional success as co-founder of SHOP Co., a prominent commercial real estate firm, Peter was best known for his deep adoration of his wife and children. His face would light up at the mere mention of his family, and nothing brought him more joy than celebrating his children's achievements. He was immensely proud of Hayden's musical and athletic accomplishments and Mila's creative and athletic talents, never missing an opportunity to support their pursuits and share in their passions.
A lifelong athlete and fitness enthusiast, Peter pursued his passions for surfing, snowboarding, exercising and hunting with the same dedication he brought to every aspect of his life. His adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors were infectious, inspiring those around him to embrace life fully and stay active.
Peter graduated from William Patterson University before making his way to Texas, where he would find both his calling and, more importantly, the love of his life. While his business acumen helped shape the Dallas retail landscape and beyond, it was his role as a husband and father that truly defined him. His greatest moments were the everyday ones: family walks with their cherished dog Winnie, cheering from the sidelines at his children's events, and creating lasting memories with those he loved most.
