With dignity and grace, beloved husband and father, Phil Eklof, passed away on Saturday December 1, 2013. Forever remembered as a devoted husband and great friend to all that knew him.
Phil was born September 14, 1928 in Los Angeles, California to Roy and Thyra Eklof. He received his under graduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, but not before fighting with the 160th Infantry Regiment in Korea. Sergeant First Class Eklof came home in 1952 and quickly returned to educating himself; ultimately receiving an MBA from the University of Southern California.
As a professional Real Estate Appraiser, Phil was very proud of having been recognized as a full Member of the Appraisal Institute. He felt most proud and blessed to have served as the President of the Lone Star High School Rodeo Association.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, three grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
A Memorial Service will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home Northwest Hwy Chapel at 10:00 am Thursday, December 5, 2013 with a reception to follow. Online condolences may be made to www.Sparkman-Hillcrest.com.
