Phillip Dwane Nettle of Garland, Texas passed away on February 5, 2016 at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 26 days. He was born on September 10, 1932 in Streetman, Texas to Arthur Byron and Annie Bell Nix Nettle. Phillip is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sharon Nettle; son, Rick Nettle; daughter, Kelli Barefield and her husband Andy; sisters, Bonnie Aldridge and Alice Warren; grandchildren, Lindsey Perkin, Jason Barefield, Jacob Barefield as well as many extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Byron Nettle and Annie Bell Nix; siblings: Doris Lou Thomas, Bobby Ray Nettle and James Lyndon Nettle. Phillip graduated from Richardson High School with the class of 1951 and was a member of Rogers Baptist Church since 1949. He was the owner of Nettle Plumbing Company from 1977 through 2010. Phillip loved to hunt and fish. Teasing those he loved was one of his favorite hobbies along with watching John Wayne movies. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home and the Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Rodgers Baptist Church, 801 West Buckingham Road, Garland, Texas 75040. Burial service will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetey, Lane A. The cemetery is located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. Pallbearers include Aaron Nettle, Bobbie Thomas, Alan Harris, Art Pond, Joe Shepherd, Dan Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers include the Deacon body of Rodgers Baptist Church.
