Gilliland, Phyllis Janet Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 11, 2010. She was born March 23, 1923 in Greenfield, IN. to Harvey Everett & Mary LaVaughn Collins. Phyllis graduated from Methodist Hospital Nursing School as an RN. She married Bill J. Gilliland on March 13, 1948 and lived in Corpus Christi. They moved San Angelo in 1962 and continued working as a private duty nurse until they both retired at the age of 50. Phyllis & Bill were members of the Lubbock and Dallas-Fort Worth Silver Streak Club and Phyllis served as the nurse on call when they traveled to different rallies around the country. They moved to Garland in January of 2010 for medical reasons and to be closer to family. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Bill, daughter, Debra Kay Kahan, grandson, Brandon Ray Kahan, great grandson, Colton Ray Kahan, 5 brothers, 2 sisters. Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday, Sept, 14, 2010 at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2pm Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at New World United Methodist Church; 5134 Northwest Hwy, Garland, TX 75043. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
