Phyllis Nudelman Kaplan passed away on 9/6/2026, ten days before her 101st birthday. She was born on 9/16/1925 in St. Louis, MO where she met and eventually married the love of her life, Jerome “Jerry” Kaplan in 1949. They were married for 62 years. They lived in St, Louis until moving with their family to Dallas, TX in 1966. She was a beloved administrative assistant with the religious school at Shearith Israel Synagogue for over 20 years. Phyllis enjoyed entertaining, reading, cooking and swimming.
She served as a volunteer for pediatric patients. Additionally, she was a tech assistant who supported Radiology at MCHD. She also helped the staff by serving food to enable them to be with their families on holidays. At MCHD, she visited every hospitalized Jewish patient.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Sarah Ruth (Banet) Nudelman and her husband Jerry and her brother Harvey Banet Nudelman.
She is survived by daughters Gail Hope Kaplan, Faith Ilene Kaplan, Cheryl Joy (Kaplan) Thompson and her grandson Zachary Sky Thompson.
