Pieter Johannes Dijkman

In loving memory of our husband, father and friend, Pieter J Dijkman who passed away peacefully holding the hand of his wife and surrounded by his family, at home on November 21, 2016 at the age of 83. Pieter was 1 of 4 children and the oldest son of Johannes and Ottje Dijkman. He served and was a fighter pilot in the Royal Dutch Air Force and was the youngest fighter pilot to ever train in the United States. He retired as a computer programmer for AAFES in 1995 where he implemented the inventory control for the PX’s around the world. He is survived by his wife Celia and by 5 children, Peter Dijkman Jr., Perry Dijkman and his wife Jessica, Rosa Herring and her husband Bow, Teresa Dijkman, Celeste Holmes and her husband Mark. As well as his step children Duane Mayer, Wendy Morrill, Jesse Garcia, Miramar Garcia Cohn, Barbara Martinez, Pricilla Stidham and Kelly Garcia. He was loved greatly by his 35 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. There will be a viewing on Friday November 25 at Gonzalez Funeral Home from 4 – 8 pm with a Rosary at 6:30pm. Funeral Service will be Saturday November 26 at 10 am at Gonzalez Funeral Home with the burial at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
