Pilar Savala Moreno was born on October 12th 1941 in Italy, TX to the parents of Jose H. Savala and Petra Savala. She was the 3rd of 10 children Sylvester, Bertha, Juan, Santiago "Rudy", Nieves, Kena, Lupe, Ray, and Larry Savala. She spent her younger years running through the fields of her parents land, fishing in ponds, and going out dancing with her brother Rudy. She had 7 children - Sandy Ann Moreno, Steve Ramirez, Mary Lou Ramirez, Cristina Cuellar, Ruben Ramirez, Rogelio Moreno Jr. and Norma Moreno, along with 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. She loved taking care of her family. Many generations were raised in her home on Ninth Street. She made the best tortillas and gave the best hugs. She was also a daughter, a mother, an aunt, a godmother, a grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and the strongest most loving woman you could ever meet. Her legacy will live on forever through the beautiful family she made and all the people's hearts she touched.
The Lord called her home on the afternoon of December 1st, 2020. Though she's left a void in many hearts, our souls will never say goodbye. She will be loved and missed forever, never to be forgotten.
And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age - Matthew 28:20
