Adored Husband, Father, Brother and Friend of Many that will Miss his Love and Support
PJ's battle with lung cancer ended while visiting a favorite spot in Ventana Canyon, Arizona. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Paul and Catherine Lufrano Buriak. A lifelong Pittsburgh fan, he especially enjoyed rooting for the Steelers. As a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, he also followed Panthers football. He traveled extensively while working many years at Exxon Mobile, living primarily in Houston, TX. He later joined American Maplan in McPherson, KS. PJ was living in Leola, (Lancaster County) Pennsylvania where he was President of iNOEX LLC at the time of his death. His extensive travel helped him make many dear friends and enjoy many golf courses. He died at Banner University Hospital with his wife holding his hand.
PJ is survived by his his wife, Mary Theresa Buriak, and her daughter Nicole Sims (Christopher); by his children, Brandi Buriak Rahill (Rudy), Angela Buriak Neal (Devlin), and Alexander Buriak (Lyndsey) , and their mother, Marianne Capozzoli Buriak; by his sister, Stacey Buriak Lawson and niece, Nikki Lawson; and by his grandchildren Alexa, Andrew, Daniel, Jake, Emily, Alexis, and Viviana.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, from 6-8 pm at Sparkman-Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX, 75225. His family will honor him at a memorial service on Thursday, March 12 at 10:30 am at Watermark Community Church, 7540 LBJ Frwy, Dallas, TX 75251. Burial will follow at Sparkman-Hillcrest.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
