

Our loving Polly Ann Morton passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 20, 2022. She was “Mom” to her children and “Nana” to her grandchildren, “Ms. Polly” to her friends and family and “Honey” to her beloved husband of 60 years.
Polly Ann Morton was born on December 3, 1941, in the east Texas town of Gilmer. She is survived by her husband Granville Morton, daughter Connie and fiancé Jesse Sifuentez of Plano, TX, son Michael and grandchildren Seth, Bethany and Elizabeth of Kemp, TX, brothers Joe Edward Powel and wife Janet of Gilmer, TX, Edward Joe Powell of Pittsburg, TX sisters Sallie Sisk of Leesburg, TX, Sue Powell of Pittsburg, TX and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Proceeded in death by parents Travis Powell and Louella Threadgill Powell, brothers Andrew Travis (Andy) Powell, and Charles (Charlie) Powell, sisters Vera Powell, and Ella Mae Waller.
Polly was a graduate of Gilmer High School in 1961. The day after she graduated, she moved to Dallas Texas where she was introduced to Granville by her Meister cousins. She married Granville on May 5th, 1962, at St. Edwards Catholic Church. Polly and Granville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2022.
Polly was baptized in the Baptist church and converted to Catholicism at St. Elizabeth of Hungry after many years of going to mass with her husband and children. Her faith and spirituality were strong.
Polly began her career at First National Bank in downtown Dallas then moved to American Optical. She found her passion in the mortgage industry starting as a processor, which led her to becoming a loan officer, where she was always a top producer.
Polly adored her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She was a beloved Nana. She retired early to help her sister Mae take care of her grandchildren Justin and Kameron Waller.
She was always there if anyone ever needed advice or a shoulder to cry on, she was there to support them any way she could. She was a mentor for family and friends. Polly was a caregiver, in every sense of the word, through her actions and support. Polly’s beautiful smile and her love to laugh will provide enduring memories and comfort to all her family. She was a sweet lady and will be missed by many.
