Polly O Weisberg

Polly was born in San Antonio, Texas, on July 15, 1941, to Harris Kempner Oppenheimer and Lois Goldsmith Oppenheimer. She grew up in San Antonio and graduated in 1964 from H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College, New Orleans, Louisiana.

Throughout her life, Polly was known for her kindness, humor, and generosity. She had a warm and engaging personality and touched the lives of many people through her friendship, compassion, and genuine interest in others.

One of Polly's great passions was American Miniature Horses. She was deeply involved in showing her horses and enjoyed many years of success in the miniature horse community. Her dedication and love for the horses led to numerous accomplishments, including raising and showing multiple National Champion horses. The friendships and experiences she gained through the world of American Miniature Horses were an important and cherished part of her life.

Polly was also a devoted pet mom to the many dogs and cats who shared her homes throughout the years. She had a special love for animals and welcomed them into her life as beloved members of her family. Her compassion and generosity extended to all of her four-legged companions, who brought her great joy and affection over the years.

Polly was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alex Weisberg.

She is survived by her son, Alexander Weisberg of Potomac, Maryland; her sister, Claire Oppenheimer O'Malley of San Antonio, Texas; her stepdaughter, Susan Weisberg McCain of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren, Andrea McCain, Jessica McCain, and Clay McCain, all of Dallas, Texas, and Claire Weisberg of Potomac, Maryland; and her nephews, Harris O'Malley of Austin, Texas, and Edward O'Malley of Boulder, Colorado.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jeffrey Austin, Cambridge Caregivers, Kat and the staff at Star City Hospice, and Fatima Lanuza for the care and support they provided to Polly.

Words cannot adequately express the family's profound appreciation for Polly's special caregivers, Adda and Tino Vazquez. Their extraordinary dedication to Polly's health, safety, comfort, and happiness went far beyond words. They cared for Polly with remarkable devotion, compassion, and love, and their presence in her life will always be remembered and deeply appreciated by her family.

Polly will be remembered for her generous spirit, her wonderful sense of humor, her love of animals, and the many friendships she formed throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
