Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. On Friday, January 8, 2021, my dear mom (Nanay, as we call her), Precy Malunes, rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings at the age of 65.
She was born 1 of 8 children in Mambusao, Capiz, Philippines. She is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Dallas, TX, where she received her Bachelors Degree in Culinary Management.
On March 4, 1974, she married my dad, Danilo Malunes. They raised 4 children, Donny, Jake, Jonni & Freda.
Mom had a passion for baking and was a phenomenal baker, as anyone who's been lucky enough to sample her goods can attest. She also loved to sew, she even made my wedding dress. Yes, my mom was also a talented seamstress with a beautiful soul. She was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, her kind and compassionate spirit.
My mother was the kindest, most generous woman I have ever known. She loved her family so much and worked hard her entire life to make sure her children and grandchildren are ok. She was very nurturing & puts the needs of others before her own; she gave so much to people that she forgets about herself.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Adelaida. She is survived by three sons and a daughter, Donny (his three children, Nissan, Jhimson and Angel), Jake (his three children, Chustin, Jasper and Lord Mark), Jonni (his three children, Penelope, Jonnielyn and Daniella) and Freda (her two sons, Liam and Aiden), several cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
Services will be private.
Precy’s family asked:
“that you spend time with your children, take a walk on the beach with your loved ones and make a toast to enduring friendships lifelong and beyond. That is what Precy would wish for you.”
All expressions of sympathy, including flowers, honorary donations and cards are welcome, you may send them to Freda Janolo, 5800 Preston Oaks Road, #1049, Dallas, Texas, 75254.
