

Proctor Morton Boyd, born September 9, 1930, in Dallas, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 16, 2024, in Grand Prairie, Texas, at the age of 94. He was a longtime member of The Oaks Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Proctor grew up in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas and was a proud graduate of Adamson High School. After graduation he went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in South Carolina, where he worked as both a typist and a fireman.
Following his military service, Proctor dedicated 38 years to the Dallas Power & Light Company (DPL), where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. A perfectionist by nature and frugal in his ways, Proctor always found joy in doing things right and living simply.
Proctor loved the outdoors, and his passions included fishing, hunting, and water skiing. As a member of the Lake Tawakoni Bass Club, he forged lifelong friendships over his shared love of fishing. Proctor and his beloved wife, Bonnie, spent countless cherished moments traveling across the 48 contiguous states in their RV, making memories in every corner of the country.
Proctor was preceded in death by his father, Proctor Morton Boyd, Sr.; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Boyd; and his stepson, Danny Massey. He is survived by his devoted wife, Bonnie Lou Boyd; his son, Stephen Boyd, and wife Angelle; stepdaughter Brenda Zincke and husband Danny; and stepsons David Massey and Gary Massey, along with Gary’s wife Janet. Proctor is also survived by grandchildren Natalie Boyd Swirsky and husband Andrew, Ross Boyd, Cody Patterson, Austin Zincke, Jennifer and Emiley Massey, Garrett Massey, Janene Massey, Giselle Massey and great grandchildren Jane Swirsky, Holly Swirsky, David Swirsky, Conley Massey, and Chandler Massey.
A celebration of life will be held on January 7, 2025 at the Laurel Land Funeral Home located at 6300 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and the service will begin at 10 o’clock officiated by Pastor Don Smarto. A reception immediately follow the service in the Laurel Land Event room. There will be a private burial at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery after the reception.
