

Rachel Guerrero Gomez, age 80, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, at UT Southwestern Hospital.
Rachel was born in Dallas, Texas, on June 11, 1946, to Emilio and Rachel Guerrero. On February 28, 1962, she married the love of her life, Paul Martin Gomez, and together they built a loving family.
Rachel worked at HR Windows for 19 years. She loved children, enjoyed being around people, and could always be found dancing to just about any tune. Rachel had a personality that made her impossible to forget. If you were ever looking for Rachel, all you had to do was call Walmart—she would be paged, even though she didn’t work there. She practically lived there! Rachel had made friends with everyone, and they would always greet her with a warm, “Well, hello, Mrs. Gomez!” Her laughter, kindness, and wonderful personality touched so many lives.
Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, Emilio and Rachel Guerrero; her in-laws, Jesus and Lucy Gonzales Gomez; her children, Mario Gomez and Rita Elaine Gomez; and her sister, Rosemary.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Paul Jr. “Pansonie” (Jessie), Michelle Gomez, and Betty Porras (Louis); grandchildren, Myriam Gomez, Audi Hernandez (Melissa), and Sebastian Hernandez (Melissa); great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Audi, Delilah, Destiny, Brianna, and Gabriela ; along with numerous other family members, friends, and loved ones.
Rachel will be remembered for her loving heart, her joy for life, her love of children, her dancing spirit, and the many friendships she made throughout her life. She leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring smiles and laughter to those who knew and loved her.
Memorial Service
A memorial service celebrating Rachel’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on September 19, 2026, at Calvary Hill Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, a nonprofit organization, in Rachel’s memory.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing doctors and medical staff who cared for Rachel at UT Southwestern, including UT Southwestern Oncology, Dr. Jones, and her assistant, Caroline. Your compassion, dedication, and care meant so much to Rachel and her family.
