Rachel Marie Resendiz

Rachel Marie Resendiz, age 71, passed away on November 9, 2025, in Cedar Hill, Texas. She was born on September 21, 1954, in Wharton, Texas to Julio Nuñez, Sr. and Minnie Nuñez. Rachel was raised in Los Angeles, California.

She married Rodrigo Resendiz Salas on December 23, 1994 and together the couple shared a blended family of 11 children. She worked as support staff for adults with intellectual disabilities at My Life Foundation for more than 20 years.

On April 1, 1995, she was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and faithfully served Him from that day forward.

In her spare time, Rachel enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones. After retiring in 2019, she enjoyed traveling to Mexico with her husband to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. She also loved cooking for her family, doing word searches, and puzzles.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a caring, generous, and loving woman who served others wholeheartedly. She shared everything with love and was a natural problem-solver. She took joy in bringing hearts together and was blessed to help three of her children find the love of their lives, guided by their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Julio Nuñez, Sr. and Minnie Nuñez; sisters, Margaret Enciso and Carmen Morales; brothers, Julio Nuñez, Jr. and Lon Paul Nuñez.

She is survived by her husband, Rodrigo Resendiz Salas; son and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Irma Vidrio, and their children; son and daughter-in-law, Nemecio “Joe” Glen and Dawn Vidrio, and their children; daughter and son-in-law, Minerva and Juan Gonzalez, and their children; son and daughter-in-law, Rafael Chavez Jr. and Adriana Chavez, and his children; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sharon Chavez, and their children; son and daughter-in-law, David and Alondra Chavez, and their children; son and daughter-in-law, Roderick and Melissa Resendiz; stepson, Francisco Resendiz; stepson, Ruben Resendiz, and his children; stepson, Rodrigo Resendiz Jr., and his child; stepdaughter Brenda Guadalupe Resendiz, and her children.

One of Rachel’s proudest achievements was being a great-grandmother. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will live on through all who knew her, and she will forever be missed and cherished.

En su tiempo libre, Rachel disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia y seres queridos. Tras jubilarse en 2019, le encantaba viajar a México con su esposo para compartir el evangelio de Jesucristo. También amaba cocinar para su familia, resolver crucigramas y rompecabezas.

Su familia y amigos siempre la recordarán como una mujer cariñosa, generosa y llena de amor, que servía a los demás de todo corazón. Compartía todo con amor y tenía un don natural para resolver problemas. Le alegraba unir corazones, y tuvo la dicha de ayudar a tres de sus hijos a encontrar al amor de su vida, compartiendo la fe en el Señor Jesucristo.

Le preceden en muerte sus padres, Julio Nuñez Sr. y Minnie Nuñez; sus hermanas, Margaret Enciso y Carmen Morales; y sus hermanos, Julio Nuñez Jr. y Lon Paul Nuñez.

Le sobreviven su esposo, Rodrigo Resendiz Salas; su hijo y nuera, Ernest e Irma Vidrio, y sus hijos; su hijo y nuera, Nemecio “Joe” Glen y Dawn Vidrio, y sus hijos; su hija y yerno, Minerva y Juan González, y sus hijos; su hijo y nuera, Rafael Chavez Jr. y Adriana Chavez, y sus hijos; su hijo y nuera, Richard y Sharon Chavez, y sus hijos; su hijo y nuera, David y Alondra Chavez, y sus hijas; su hijo y nuera, Roderick y Melissa Resendiz; su hijastro, Francisco Resendiz; su hijastro, Rubén Resendiz, y sus hijos; su hijastro, Rodrigo Resendiz Jr., y su hijo; y su hijastra, Brenda Guadalupe Resendiz, y sus hijas.

Uno de los logros de los que Rachel se sentía más orgullosa fue convertirse en bisabuela. Su legado de amor, fe y servicio vivirá en todos quienes la conocieron, y será siempre recordada y querida.
