Randall grew up in the South Oak Cliff area of Dallas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School. He attended Eastern New Mexico University on a football scholarship. It was there that he received a bachelor's degree in Political Science and a Master's Degree in History all while playing football as an offensive lineman. He then attended the University of Texas Law School where he received his JD degree. Upon receiving his law degree, he moved his family to Garland, Texas where he started a thriving family law practice that lasted 30 plus years. Before retiring from law in 2015, he served as an Associate Judge in the Dallas County Family Court system. He was also a member of the State Bar of Texas.
Randall had a great knowledge and love for the military. He actively participated in ROTC both in high school and college. He later enrolled and served in the Army and completed basic training as well as candidate officer school.
Randall was very active in the churches he attended. He served in many capacities including being an Elder, Deacon, leading men’s Bible studies and teaching Sunday School classes. He had a great love for the Lord and a passion for reading the Scriptures. He loved to tell his grandkids how many times he had read through the entire Bible and to see their expressions when he told them it was a total of 50 times! His faith in God was steadfast and he often expressed gratitude for the forgiveness, grace and mercy his Savior had extended to him.
There will be a private burial this month. A celebration of life will be planned later this year for all to gather to remember Randall and a life well-lived.
