

Randy was born on July 11, 1949, in Marshall, Texas, to Samuel Hill and Catherine Jackson. He spent his early years in Shreveport, Louisiana, before moving to Dallas, Texas, where he lived for the remainder of his life and built deep roots in his community.
He graduated from James Madison High School in 1967 and later earned an Associate’s Degree from El Centro College. Randy was a man of many talents and a strong work ethic. For many years, he ran a successful woodworking business alongside his beloved wife, Sheila. Later in life, he transitioned into lawn care, a career he took great pride in, earning multiple “Best Yard” awards and forming lasting relationships with his clients.
Randy was known for his generous spirit and welcoming home. An excellent meat smoker and baker, he found joy in feeding others and loved nothing more than having a house full of hungry family and friends. He shared a close and caring bond with his longtime neighbors, who became cherished friends over the years. To his grandchildren, he was affectionately known as “Papaw,” a role he wore with pride and deep love.
Marion Smith Sr. invited Randy to attend church services at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and encouraged him to bring his entire family. They all joined, and Randy became a faithful member for many years. In his later years, Randy joined Concord Church, where he remained a devoted and faithful member until his passing.
Randy is survived by his son, Brian Hill, and his wife, Malaika “Nikki”, Deon Davis; Delonda Davis; and Derandon Davis and his wife, Mireya. He is also survived by his siblings: Rickey Walker and his wife Gloria, David Walker, Jarrett Walker, Tee Walker, and Ted Walker, along with a host of grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Hill, Magellon Walker, and Catherine Walker; his grandmother, Maggie Jackson; his siblings Mary Walker Chalmers, Clifton Walker, Magellon Walker Jr., and John Walker; his grandson, Donovan Hill and his wife Sheila Hill.
Randy will be remembered for his kindness, craftsmanship, steadfast faith, hard work, and the love he poured into his family, friendships, and community. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the memories shared around his table.
