Raul de Alva was born January 23, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Benita Contreras and Alejandro de Alva. He passed away in the comfort of his home in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the age of 76. He was raised in Dallas and graduated from Cozier Technical High School.
Raul’s legacy includes his military career serving as First Class Sergeant from which he retired after 22 years. He married the love of his life, Isidra De Alva and together, they shared one child.
In his spare time, Raul enjoyed going out to the flea market, thrift stores, sightseeing, and spending time with his family hosting cookouts, watching movies, and gathering for the holidays and any special occasions. His family and friends will always remember him as a hard worker, strict but fun father, grandfather, godfather, uncle and husband.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Benita De Alva; sister, IrmaDe Alva Duran; and brothers, Gilbert De Alva, Alexander De Alva, Oscar De Alva, and Ruben De Alva.
He is survived by his wife, Isidra De Alva; children, Priscilla Martinez, Vicente Preciado, Raul De Alva, Jr., Verenice Ramos, Adriana Gaspar, Diana De Guzman, Francisco Grajeda, and many grandkids.
The family invites you to join in celebrating the life of Raul. A visitation will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 4:00am to 8:00pm with the rosary recited at 6:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the North Chapel of Calvary Hill Cemetery on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 9:00 am followed by the burial at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220.
