He graduated from Northside High School and later from Texas Wesleyan University. He grew up attending First Baptist Church of Fort Worth, was previously a member of Northwest Bible Church in Fort Worth and is a founding member of Redeemer Bible Church in Dallas. He was employed with TU Electric and retired from there after 24 years of service. He loved to travel and study church history. He was an inveterate volunteer, spending a good bit of his time serving his congregation and the local elementary school through beautifying their grounds with his talent for gardening and penchant for staying busy. He was always looking for ways to help. His personality was marked by his continuous desire to make new friends, to pet nearly every dog that crossed his path and his talent for perfectly timed and regularly hilarious puns.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, his two loving step-children, and three doting step-grandchildren in whom he found great joy.
