Born in Palestine, Texas, on December 19, 1943, Raymond’s life was a tale of marvelous experiences, centered around his extraordinary dedication to family, friends, hard work, and the pursuit of his passions.
Raymond graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and continued his education at Tyler Jr. College, laying the foundation for a life of self-driven success. Raymond made his mark in both flooring and real estate, leaving behind a legacy of brilliance and absolute perseverance.
Conversations with Raymond were at times pleasantly predictable in that you could always count on him telling you about his adventurous motorcycle trips, the new motor he put in his 1955 Chevy, the joy and camaraderie he found during his daily visits to the Dallas Athletic Club, how the horses would go wild with excitement at the sound of his truck horn heading toward the farm, the words of pride that would light up a room as he shared the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, and he really loved the simple pleasures like going to lunch.
Raymond will not only be remembered for his endless achievements, but for his impassioned spirit that fueled his every endeavor and the kindness he shared with those who needed it most. He led a life that can only be described as one heck of a remarkable journey. In honoring his memory, may we all strive to make the world a better place, just as he did in his own extraordinary way.
He is survived by his children, Lynette Bonham (Lynn), Christina George, Ashley Rader (Jeremiah), and Stacey Edna George; grandchildren, Kayla Tadlock (Jerry), Blake Carter, Georgia Rader, Paige Rader, and Harlow Callan Rader; great-grandson, John Tadlock; siblings, Delores McGwire (Billy), Patricia Smith, and David George.
