Raymond "Ray" Robert Rabon passed peacefully in his sleep on April 25, 2022, after a long illness with COPD and CHF. Ray was born in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in University Park and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1962.
After graduation, he served in the Army at the Central Command of the Allied Forces during the Vietnam War. Upon returning, he married and raised a family in Dallas. He found his greatest enjoyment visiting and talking with friends and family. Forced to retire early due to health problems, Bob spent treasured time with his grandchildren. Gift giving to family and friends any chance he could brought him great pleasure.
As his health deteriorated, he moved from the home where he had spent most of his life, to Wisconsin to be close to a daughter and her family. He was always quick witted and had an uncanny ability to remember the most mundane details of his life or yours. He will be missed.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Hazel, and a son, Larry. He is survived by the mother of his children, Joe Ann; daughter, Katherine Navarra and husband, Tony; daughter, Christine Martin and husband, Bret; son, Robert Rabon and wife, Jennifer; son, William Rabon and seven grandchildren, Michaela, Hunter, Payton, Amber, Kolby, Ridge and Grace. Raymond is also survived by his brother, William Earl Rabon and wife, Susan, as well as numerous other relatives.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The COPD Foundation.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Sparkman-Hillcrest.com for the Rabon family.
