Raymond Atilano Zuniga

Went home to be with Our lord Jesus on May 22, 2026

Raymond was born in Kaufman, TX on September 14th to Frutoso and Maria Ambrosia Atilano.

The family moved to West Dallas in 1949. He worked for Sanger brothers as a delivery hop boy. He then worked for El Chico food preparation co. This is where he met Lupe ♥

On September 6th, 1953, he married his soul mate, Guadalupe Guerra Soto and they were blessed with 65 beautiful years together.

Raymond was raised in Kaufman, Scurry and Sachse, TX. From a very young age he grew up as a sharecropper field worker picking cotton along with his twin sister, Lucinda.

Raymond was a faithful parish member of The Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Dallas.

Raymond was a loving husband and father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is preceded by his wife, Lupe; son, Raymond Jr.; and grandson, Edward Cabrera Jr.

Raymond is survived by his children and their spouses: Melinda Cantu Zuniga, † Raymond Zuniga Jr., Stella & Edward Cabrera, Michael & Tina Zuniga and Gabriel & Wendy Zuniga; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Services will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas, 75220. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with the Holy Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. Liturgy of the Word will be held in the same chapel on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11:00 am, with the burial at 12:00 pm.
