

Rebecca Duran Cortez of Dallas, surrounded by her loved ones passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 in her home. Visitation and Rosary is scheduled from 6 to 8pm on Sunday, January 29 and funeral service at 12:00pm on Monday, January 30 at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Rebecca was born on November 11, 1931 in Calvert, Texas to Lorenzo Duran and Melicia Lara Duran. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother to all her children, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Federico Cortez, Jr.; sisters, Janie Duran Mata, Lydia Lopez; and brothers Frank and David Duran.
She is survived by Sons, Federico Cortez III and fiancé Sylvia Molina of Grand Prairie, Ricardo Cortez, Lorenzo Cortez and wife Lindy Cortez of Winnsboro, Benito Cortez and partner Richard Hartman of Fort Worth, and daughter Margarita Cortez, grandchildren, Logan Duran Cortez, Michael Cortez, Andrew Cortez and Steven Cortez, Dewayne and Emily Noble, Zach and Sarah Noble of Tyler, Dakotah Lindley, many great grandchildren; and sister, Rafaela Baldobino of Navasota.
Pallbearers are Logan Duran Cortez, Dewayne Noble, Zach Noble, Roy Baldobino, Gene Jr. Baldobino, and Rick Benavidez. The family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
