Retta O’Bannon Hanie was born on March 19, 1927 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2013 at the age of 86. She was born in Greenville, Mississippi and moved to Texas when she went to college, graduating from Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, TX. She married Robert Leslie Hanie in November 1956. For over 30 years she was associated with The White Rocker News, first as the editor and the eventual owner of the paper. She is survived by her husband, Robert Leslie Hanie; children Shelley & Sam Creager and Robert & Karen Hanie; grandchildren Kristin & Blake Clickner, Caleb & Andrea Hanie, Katy Hanie, and Samantha Hanie; and great-grandchildren Cade, Tatum, Avie, Nate, and Landry. Services will be held for her on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2 pm at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
