Richard D Hawn

Richard Dean Hawn, Jr. beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend was born on July 28, 1947 and passed away November 22, 2010. He attended St. Mark’s School of Texas, graduated from Allen Military Academy and earned his bachelor’s degree and law degree from Southern Methodist University. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Navy and was active in the oil and gas industry. Richard was a member of the American Bar Association, St. Michael’s and All Angels Episcopal Church, The Petroleum Club, and Dallas Wild Catters. He is preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Mills Price, father Richard Dean Hawn, stepfather George Vaden Price and father-in-law Medard John Lakatos. He is survived by his loving wife Diane Lakatos Hawn; his son Richard Dean Hawn, III; his two daughters and their families, Meredith and Brian Jaworowski, Dory and Kurt Sjogren and his two granddaughters Gabriella and Ava Sjogren. Richard was a devoted family man and his great love and compassion for his family will never be forgotten. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held at St. Michael’s and All Angels Episcopal Church 8011 Douglas Avenue on Saturday, November 27 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richard Dean Hawn III College Fund, Chase Bank, 10729 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75230, or any local branch.
