

Richard Andrew “Dick” Jackson, born June 16, 1925 in Butler, Pennsylvania died Easter Sunday peacefully at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Catherine “Kitty”, and 5 children, Anne Roberts (Lonnie), Jane Boyle (John), B. J. Sullivan (Mark), Richard Jr. (Amber), and Katie Patuel (Ray). Dick is also survived by 9 loving grandchildren, Joe, Ben, Sam, Casey, Abigail, Mariah, Hallie, Sarah, and Alexandra. Dick grew up in Butler, Pennsylvania and served as a tail gunner in the Army Air Corps in World War II. After completing his service to his country, Dick finished his education at St. Vincent’s College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He spent nearly 40 years in the pharmaceutical industry as an executive with Johnson & Johnson. Dick and Kitty were married in 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and their romance, friendship and marriage served as a great model for each of their 5 children and will endure through eternity. Dick was a member of the Dallas Gun Club, The Salesmanship Club of Atlanta, and an Eagle Scout. He and Kitty were also members of Christ the King Catholic Church in Dallas. Dick was also an avid reader, bird hunter, and lover of great red wine. A memorial mass will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel at 4pm Tuesday, April 6. The Reverend Father Philip Postell will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital.
