

Richard Fordyce Tozer passed away on February 19, 2016, from complications following a car accident. He was born on November 15, 1939, in Rochester, New York, to Richard John and Flora Fordyce Tozer. Dick was a much-loved brother, uncle, great uncle, colleague, teacher, mentor, and friend to many.
Growing up in Lakewood and Akron, Ohio, Dick’s constant curiosity about the world around him led to diverse and lifelong interests in reading, politics, science, business, cars, libraries, and a host of others. He graduated from Case Institute of Technology, Cleveland, where he majored in applied science, and from the Harvard Business School, where he earned his doctorate.
As a Texan, he became a respected management consultant who focused on helping entrepreneurs succeed, both in the academy and in the workplace. He developed and presented the Entrepreneurial Ventures course in the Executive MBA program at the University of Texas at Dallas’ School of Management. He was also an adjunct professor and frequent guest speaker in the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
Dick completed numerous consulting assignments and several hundred successful financial and management training programs. Among those he served were the American Management Association, the Dallas Bar Association, the US Postal Service, the US Chamber of Commerce, the Texas Society of CPAs, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, as well as many smaller organizations and individuals. Throughout his life, his knowledge, creativity, optimism, and encouragement inspired his family, friends, and colleagues.
There will be a Memorial Service at 10:00 am on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel followed by a reception in the Sparkman Family Lounge. Please share your condolences with the family.
