Rita Anne Hutchison

She was born in Dallas, Texas on August 9, 1939 to parents Agnes and Allie Boykin. Rita graduated from St. Edwards Academy. She was married to Gary Lee Hutchison on January 28, 1961.

Rita had a career working for the Chilton Corporation. Rita was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with each of her children and visits from her grandchildren & great grandchildren. Gardening was her passion as she spent countless hours tending to her beautiful flower beds and garden. Rita also enjoyed reading mystery novels, interior design books and anything related to gardening. She was a natural caregiver and had a huge heart for helping others. Rita had a beautiful smile, a tender heart that always made you feel special. She was the best Momma and Granny in the world. We will miss her always. Until we meet again.

Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lee Hutchison; father, Allie C. Boykin; mother, Agnes Boykin; brother, John Boykin; grandson, David Tompkins; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Hutchison.

She is survived by her children, Stephanie L. Hall, Gary A. Hutchison, Jacqueline A. Tompkins, and Jennifer L. Wilbur; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Rita will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home.
