Rita Jeanne Sapp

Rita Jeanne Sapp. Born July 9, 1925 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the age of 88. Rita was the fourth of five daughters born to Claude and Iva Trickett. She received her degree as an LVN and worked at Baylor Medical Center for a number of years before going to work for a private doctor’s office. After retiring, she and her husband, Ed, moved to Athens TX where they resided for 25 years. Rita married George Edward Sapp December 24, 1950. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2013. She was also preceded in death by daughters Ann Barker and Gayle Humphrey; one great grandchild; and three sisters Miriam, Phyllis and Dora Lee. Rita is survived by daughters Jan Sapp, Tricia Burns, 5 grandchildren, Leann Bach, Lara Tillman, Staci Satterfield, Tommy Burns and Michael Burns; 10 great grandchildren; her remaining sister Mary Edith Staples; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held, 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 6, 2014, Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the 1st Methodist Church of Athens TX or a charity of your choice.
