

Robert Barrie Gordon, Major, U.S. Army, Ret., age 77 of Dallas, passed away September 7, 2015. He was born August 31, 1938 in Johnstown, PA, the son of Robert Frank Gordon and Beatrice (Bloom) Gordon Wells. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dianne (Richards) Gordon.
Robert proudly served his Country for 20 years during the Vietnam Era receiving the Meritorious Service Commendation, Army Commendation, Armed Forces Reserve Metal, Armed Forces Expeditionary and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medals and 3 Bronze Service Stars. Robert also retired from DISD as Service Center Director. Robert was a member of Lake Pointe Church in Mesquite. He enjoyed NASCAR and traveling with family. Robert was known for his many hours of volunteer work at the Dallas Arboretum.
Robert is also survived by daughter Vicki Gordon; Louise Bloom (aunt); cousins Dewayne Inman and wife Barbara, Allen Emmel, David Emmel and wife Deborah, Paul Emmel, Rodney Bloom and wife Darice. Other cousins; Cindy Inman Slagle, Wayne Inman, Lindsey Emmel, Patricia Emmel (Goddaughter). He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Beatrice, Son Robert C. Gordon, and stepfather William Wells.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, September 12 at 1:30 PM at LakePointe Church Town East Campus, Mesquite. Full Military Rites and Interment will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
