Mr. Robert Felton Jones

Robert "Bob" Felton Jones, lovingly also known as "Jingles," passed from this world into the loving arms of Jesus on July 11, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 91. Born on July 6, 1935, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Reverend James and Martha Jones, Bob grew up in Oxmoor alongside his siblings Tilda, James Jr., and Samuel.

In January 1954, Bob proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force and dedicated over 20 years in service to his country. His service took him to multiple countries, and ultimately to Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, where he retired in 1974.

Bob was married to Grace Eleanor Jones, the love of his life and to whom he remained married for 63 years until her death in 2020. Together they raised two daughters, Beverly and Jacqui.

Following his military career, Bob and family remained in Abilene where he earned a business degree from McMurry University and embarked on a successful career in insurance. Known for his warmth and genuine love for people, he made a lasting impact on everyone he met. For over five decades, Bob was a dedicated member of the Abilene Cactus Lions Club. His tireless efforts raised thousands of dollars for the Texas Lions Camp, earning him the affectionate nickname "Jingles" for his ever-present donation can.

A devout Christian and former deacon, Bob lived by the heartfelt message: "God is good all the time. and all the time, God is good!" He leaves behind his daughters Beverly Handy and Jacqueline "Jacqui" Jones, granddaughter Natasha Daniel and husband De'Quinton "Q" Daniel, “adopted” sons David Perry, Steven Perry, and his former son-in-law, Major Kelvin Handy, with whom he maintained a close relationship and a host of other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Visitation followed by a wake will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 S. R.L. Thornton Fwy., Dallas, TX. Celebration of Life services will follow on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, 1660 W. Camp Wisdom Rd., Dallas, TX 75232. Interment will take place on Monday, August 3, 2026, 10:00 at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery.

Bob's legacy of faith, service, and kindness will live on in all who knew him.
