Robert Richard Loshelder

Bob is survived by his beloved unwavering wife Ginger who was the true love and light of his life for 63 years.

He is also survived by sons Eric (Sandra) Loshelder, Lance (Lisa) Loshelder, Jason (Jennifer) Loshelder, Bob (Tiffany) Loshelder, Kenneth (Ashley) Loshelder, daughters Candy (Dave) Beideck, Heather (Chris) Mees, Carrie (Russell) Loshelder, 15 grandchildren, Rebecca, Julia, Killian, Derek, Kyle, Nicole, Deborah, Nate, Gus, Nick, Corrin, Ami, Vivien, Edie, Jillian and 5 great grandchildren, Jerome, Rafael, Benedict, Jax and Everly.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Cecelia Loshelder.

Bob graduated from Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA before attending Carnegie Mellon University.

Steadfast in love, Bob willingly sacrificed his baseball card collection to his mother’s wrath to follow his muse from Pittsburgh to Dallas. Since 1963 Bob and Ginger could reliably be found dancing their way across the dance floor, the kitchen and life’s many, but never insurmountable challenges. They regarded their home as a canvas to reflect the continuous evolution of themselves and their family. Bob and Ginger delighted in this near constant collaboration and renewal.

Bob spent over 40 years as a manufacturing engineer (and innovator in the realm of conveyors) for various companies in the DFW metroplex. He managed his own consulting firm before promoting himself to the full-time position of grandfather.

Bob embraced life with the exuberance of a bull rider and the grace of the bull.

He was a voracious learner who embraced life: cars, food, music, art, travel, science, philosophy, pontificating and relishing new experiences.

Bob found great gratification in service to others and was an active member of his community through Scouts, ministry and mentorship. In retirement he remained devoted to service through the Society of St Vincent de Paul.

As a true epicurean and student of gastrodiplomacy, Bob understood the universal role of food in sharing communion. He approached meal preparation with the precision of an engineer and celebrated mealtime with mirth as a fellowship of lords. Whether breaking bread with his family or strangers each meal was an opportunity to share new experiences and reinforce connection. He never met a hot sauce he didn’t like.

Friends can visit with the family on Friday, August 28, from 9:30 AM until the time of the Service at 9:50 AM, with Father Sean Martin officiating, at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 3900 Rowlett Rd, Rowlett, TX. Additional information will be provided after the service.
