Born in Dallas, Texas on January 17, 1935 and lost his battle with dementia and went home to be with his Lord on June 29, 2020. He owned the business, Stephens Garage on the corner of Lawnview and Hunnicut in East Dallas for many years. He loved the Lord and attended Shiloh Terraces. He was a deacon at Casa View Baptist for many years.
Robert served in the Navy reserves and was an aircraft mechanic stationed at the Naval Air Station in Grand Prairie when he and Pat were married. he was very proud of his service to his country.
He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed taking his family on trips. He also enjoyed collecting Donald Duck memorabilia and model cars. He could speak Donald Duck and loved making the kids laugh. In later years he enjoyed a camping club and traveling.
He was preceded in death by wife, Pat Stephens; parents, Bill and Francis Stephens and stepdaughter; Jan Heitman.
Survived by wife, Wilma Stephens; 2 sons, Robert Stephens, Jr. and wife, Elesa and Roger Stephens and wife, Kim; stepdaughters, Connie Bodie and husband, Bill and Penny Bates and husband, Bob; 3 grandchildren: granddaughters, Ashley Woolbright and fiancé, Scott Stewart, Kelsey Miller and husband, John and grandson, Ross Stephens; 5 step-grandchildren, Sara Brown and husband, Emerson, Brent Frette and wife, Courtney, Bryant Bodie, Loren Webb and husband, Steven and Cassandra Wright and husband, Justin. 5 great-grandchildren, Kaylee Woolbright, McKenzie Woolbright, Cameron Miller and Hunter Stephens; 8 step great-grandchildren, Wesley Brown, Samuel Brown, Colbie Frette, Summer Webb, Stellan Webb, Jeriko Ball, Felix Ball and Irie Jane Wright.
