

He was born in the heart of Dallas on May 23rd, 1951 to Mansfield Cronnin Via and Ida Ruth Smith of Dallas. Robert “Bob” Via graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and received a Bachelor's degree in Finance.
He is survived by wife Mary Ann King Via, married on December 9th, 2012 in which they lived in Dallas together for 11 years. He is also survived by wife Linda Jean Schweigert in which they were married May 24th, 1976 and divorced May 15th, 2001.
Bob had a career in Insurance Underwriting with specialization in Workers Compensation for companies including Texas Mutual for over 30 years. He was a significant member of the Al-Anon support group, and the Good Samaritan Episcopal Church. He had a passion for Kickboxing, CrossFit, and Tae-Kwon-Do in which he was an honored 3rd degree Black Belt. He loved to read, immerse himself in the local Newspaper, eat spicy food, watch British comedies, and be a servant to his family and to his community.
He is survived by daughters, Amanda Jane Via of Dallas, Texas and Lisa Claire Bryan of Farmersville, Texas and her husband Kevin Bryan; grandchildren, John Hickman, Jr., Makena Hickman, Phoenix Hickman, Kate Bryan and Knox Bryan; and cats, Zee and Else.
A memorial service will be held at The Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in Dallas, located at 1522 Highland Rd., Dallas, TX 75218; Friday, April 12th at 6pm. Reception to follow.
