Roberto Degollado Sr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the age of 76 surrounded by his beloved family and friends. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Roberto will be remembered for his quiet strength and kind spirit.
Born in Santa Rosa, Texas, Roberto lived a life rooted in purpose and guided by his deep love for Jehovah. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he was dedicated to his ministry and found fulfillment in helping others learn about Bible truths. His deep love for Jehovah was evident in all that he did, and it guided the way he treated others—with compassion, patience, and grace.
Roberto had a passion for the simple pleasures in life. He loved to fish and took great pride in perfecting his barbecue and smoking techniques—always ready to feed a crowd with a warm smile, a full plate of ribs and his homemade barbecue sauce.
Roberto is survived by his beloved wife, Irma Degollado; his children Robert Degollado Jr., Maribel Lara, Diana Lara, and Isabel Contreras; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Degollado and Margarita Dominguez; his brothers Benito Davila, Julio Degollado, and Jose Degollado; and his sister, Tina Silva. Though we grieve his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is safely in Jehovah’s memory, and we look forward to the coming of the resurrection, as promised in Revelation 21:4.
Roberto leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, patience and kindness. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 2 pm to 6 pm. A memorial talk will be given at 4:30 pm.
