    Oh, how I wish I could be there this week to celebrate Uncle Roger's life. What an amazing man he was! I keep trying to sum up my thoughts about Uncle Roger. He was a one of a kind man. A true gentleman. A man of integrity and honor. A man that knew how to give and receive love. A man that knew how to laugh, yet also knew how to be serious. I always remember him being so full of life. He was a phenominal husband, father, uncle, grandpa, and friend. Although we grew up miles apart from each other, it never felt like I didn't know him. He always treated me like I saw him on a regular basis. From a very young age he had a special place in my heart and he never waivered in his character. I am so thankful that I was able to see him not too long ago. I do, however, regret that I didn't get to tell him all of this myself, but thankful he didn't have to suffer long. I know he will be dearly missed, but I find rest in knowing where he is now and that he knew exactly where he was going too. What a blessing he was!! I Love You, Uncle Roger! I really wanted to say all this to him, but the business of life got in the way. Lessons learned. I knew he was going to go fast. Now Jesus gets to tell him :)   Kristin Juve

Roger was a joy to be around and had that rare ability to make you laugh or smile even when you shouldn't . May he bring that same joy to those in heaven .

 Sandy, remembering Roger from Spring Garden school days and the pickup football games after school in his side yard. And even though the grief can be hard the special memories and the love of family and friends can carry you through.

Here's a funny story.  Rodger and I were backyard neighbors in Nutley.  From the day we realized there was a same-age playmate next door, we were best friends through grammar school, junior high, and high school.  One day when we were about ten years old, Rodger's mom let us know that she had to go shopping and we were supposed to watch Rodger's younger brother John.  Well, we didn't' want John to hamper our fun, but how to put him somewhere safe while we took off.  I had a long rope swing hanging from a cherry tree in my backyard.. I told Roger to get the garbage can by my house and we attached it to the rope swing.  Roger got in the garbage can and I pushed him back and forth.  John, seeing the fun Rodger was having, wanted ti ride in the garbage can.  We put him in the can, and hoisted him up about fifteen feet.  By this time, John was screaming bloody murder while we took off - no more John to watch.  We got about three blocks away and could still hear little John screaming. Change of heart, we went back and got little John down.  And so a happy ending to one of many.
Roger and I grew up very close friends.  I had two older sisters but no brother.  So, I "adopted" Roger as my brother.  He will be missed and always in my heart.

I knew Roger from our golf club. Roger and I teased each other weekly on the 1st tee. He had a ready smile and was always a joy to be with. We talked about our grandkids often and that always brought smiles from both of us. I am sorry for your loss as I saw in my brief encounters over the years he would be an outstanding, husband, father, and grandfather. I'm also sure he left his mark on all of you. God be with you Roger.

So very sorry for your loss.  Roger was a very friendly face and personality at our golf club.  He always had time to talk to us and we shall miss him.

So sorry for your loss Lisa.  I know you loved your dad because you spoke of him often.  We are all getting to that age where we are losing our parents.

I had the pleasure to get to know Roger the past few years as the starter at Prestonwood Country Club (Creek Course).  He always had a kind word for each and every member or guest that played.  He made a huge impact in my life and I will always be thankful that I was able to work with him.  I know he will be keeping everyone in line and keeping lists of everyone's names in the next life.  You will be missed.

I consider Roger's friendship a gift.  I feel so privileged to have known Roger and his family for 35 plus years.   We spent many hours each summer for many years proving to the youngsters that old men know how to play softball.  Roger loved giving these lesson's to the younger players and teams.  Roger's competitive spirit and humor made our team such a special team to play on.  My heart feels so heavy "ole friend" from your passing.  Rest in peace, this world will not be the same without you in it.  Don Yandell

Roger was the beloved starter on Saturday morning at Prestonwood Country Club.  He always had a kind or funny word for the women's golf groups.  When I got my hole in one years ago, he was one of the first to congratulate me.   He was a treasure and now he gets to play on the divine fairways.

May the God of all comfort strengthen your entire family and may you also be comforted by the scriptures found at Psalms 116:15

To the friends and family of Roger I pray you can be comforted in knowing that God is with you during this difficult time and that there are friends that also share your sorrow with you.  I find Psalm 121 to be very comforting during these times.

So many memories of the seasons of "Fast Pitch Softball" played in OKC area.  The out of town tournament weekends, so much fun.  Summer time we were all family. Roger will be missed, but the memories will live on in our hearts.

Roger was a good man. He really made me feel really special. I loved the softball and golf outings with Roger. I never talked to him that he didn't praise Sandy and the girls! When the grandkids came along I loved hearing about them as well. Love you my friend I will see you on the other side.

Roger was a dear friend, one whom I wish I had know earlier in our lifes. We would joke around about both of us being Marines which grew us closer and I always enjoyed our couples breakfast at Brookfast every Friday. We all suffered with him in his back trouble and truly missed his absence when he was laid up with his back. Roger you will truly be missed by us all. May God be with you and Sandy and family. Semper Fi, Buddy.

Roger was a true friend and had a great sense of humor.  His family was paramount in his life, and he was so proud of his wife Sandy and his three daughters, not to mention the seven grandchildren about  whom he bragged at every opportunity. I'll miss his dry wit and political banter that was discussed so often. May God's grace shine upon you, Roger. You're in His care, now. 

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.
