He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Julius Schmetterling; his beloved mother, Gertrude Schmetterling; and son, Gilbert J. Sterling.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Sterling; his two children, Bruce Sterling and wife Lori, and Veronica Clark and husband Ken; loving sister, Connie Gluck and husband Barry; seven grandchildren, Matthew Sterling, Kirsten Clark, Emily Clark, Steven Sterling, Christopher Sterling, Ronnie Sterling, and Stephanie Sterling; and three great-grandchildren, Dixie Sterling, Cole Sterling, and Natalie Sterling.
Ron dedicated his life to his family and his work as a City theatre manager for Loews for over 45 years. He will be remembered by his droll sense of humor and love for his family and children’s charity.
Memorial service will be held, Friday March 22, 2013 at 4:00 pm at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel with a reception to follow. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Variety of Texas Children’s Charity (varietytexas.org).
