Ronald L. Stewart was born August 5, 1950. After a long and difficult journey following a massive stroke in 2019, Ron departed this life on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Laurenwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Home Center. He was the seventh child, fourth son to Dennis Sr. and Elvie Stewart.
Ron realized at an early age the importance of salvation. He accepted Christ and was baptized by the late Rev. John David Lands, New Gideon Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA. Ron was educated and graduated from Baton Rouge High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. After several internships and work exposure, Ron moved and settled in Dallas, TX.
Early in his professional career, he gained extensive accounting experience with companies such as General Foods and Frito-Lay, which eventually led him to his most adventurous role at SUN Exploration & Production Company in International Accounting as their Finance Manager - Tanzania-East Africa International Operations. During his career with SUN, his assignments included incredible travels to Spain, China, London, Switzerland and his most cherished travels to Sudan and Tanzania, Africa. Post SUN and for a short period of time, Ron worked as the Director of Finance for the Wilmer-Hutchins School District. Ultimately, Ron landed his 21 year accounting career with DISD-Dallas Independent School District as a Budget Specialist.
Beyond building a career guided by expertise and dedication, he found great joy in a variety of hobbies. Some of his favorites included photography, especially capturing his travels and the beauty of nature, vegetable gardening, fishing, and assisting with caring for the land and cows in Mexia, TX alongside his best friend. Above all, he loved BBQing and grilling - a true family favorite that brought all of us joy!
Ron was an active participant and enjoyed engaging with his community. He served as Chairman of the Kimball Estates Crime Watch Neighborhood Association, volunteered with Dallas Police Department and various schools within Dallas Independent School District.
Fond and loving memories will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of his beloved wife of 46 years, Judith M. Caver-Stewart; children Shana Wilson (Michael), Jennifer Walker (Jason), Ronald Stewart; grandchildren, Jolie & Jaxon Walker, Alexander, Andrew, Addy Grace and Anna Clare Wilson; three older sisters Rosetta Jackson, Elouise Banks (Leamus), De’Ette Price and Wannona (Ann) Ford. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Dennis Sr and Elvie Stewart, his late brothers, Sylvester, Edward and Dennis Stewart Jr. He leaves many other surviving nieces, nephews, other relatives and life-long friends.
