Ronald Everett Wommack, FAIA, a renowned Dallas architect and influential figure in the Texas architectural community, passed away suddenly on June 30, 2024, at his home in Dallas with his wife by his side. He was 73 years old. Born on December 4, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas, Ron leaves a legacy of architectural excellence that helped shape the Dallas landscape. His contributions to the community included serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, past President of the Dallas Architecture Forum, being elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 2004, and he held leadership positions in multiple AIA Dallas committees.
Throughout his illustrious career, Ron received numerous accolades, including more than twelve AIA component design awards, with six Texas Society of Architects and AIA Dallas Honor Awards. His firm, Ron Wommack Architect, was honored as the 2006 AIA Dallas Firm of the Year.
Ron is survived by his wife, Joylyn Niebes Wommack; daughter Brooke Paschall (Jason); son Richard Wommack (Nam); stepchildren Lauren Piccirillo (Dominic), Meredith Pokatayev (Vlad), and Alex Mortberg; grandchildren Zachery and Eli Paschall, Emme, Mila and Livi Wommack, Stella Piccirillo, and Maxim Pokatayev. He is also survived by his brother Robert Wommack (Joyce), sister Becky Childress, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Helen Wommack.
His family, friends, colleagues, and architectural community will deeply miss him.
