

Rosalee Cohen, age 105, of Dallas, TX, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025.
Rosalee was born on September 21, 1920, in New Braunfels, TX, to her father, Jacob, who came from Poland, and her mother Goldie, who was from Russia. When Rosalee was 11 years old, her family moved to Dallas, where she attended Colonial Hill Elementary, followed by Forest Avenue High School, and eventually Southern Methodist University, from which she graduated. She began as an education major but switched to sociology and became a social worker, working for Dallas County Welfare.
She was a secretary at Congregation Shearith Israel, where she also taught Sunday School, in addition to serving as the president of the Sisterhood at Temple Emanu-El. Rosalee comes from a family that has always valued giving back to the Jewish community.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Cyril Cohen, whom she met when she was 12 years old, and her beloved sister, Bernice Kayman.
Rosalee is survived by son, Donald Cohen of South Carolina, daughters, Cindy Timm of Arkansas, and Lori Droppo of Dallas, TX. Rosalee, "Mimi", also had many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Sunday, November 2, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jill Stone Community Garden at Temple Emanu-El or the charity of your choice.
